Why is Full Spectrum Hemp Oil better than Broad Spectrum or Isolate

Posted by Craig Wrigley on

The best available science makes clear that whole-plant cannabis preparations are quantifiably superior to single compounds because the plant’s complex mix of cannabinoidsterpenes, and flavonoids interact synergistically to create an “entourage effect” that enhances each other’s therapeutic effects.

Animals and plants both evolved with a cannabinoid system and when our internal endocannabinoid system is under stress and needs assistance we can turn to the powerful hemp plant which is natures king of phytocannabinoids and many natural biochemical components needed to help us return to homeostasis (well-being).  But it takes the whole plant for best benefit.

Hemp oil can be formulated in one of three ways: full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate. Full-spectrum Hemp oils deliver the widest variety of therapeutic compounds, followed by broad-spectrum hemp oil which has all trace of THC removed. Hemp oil isolate contains nothing but cannabinoids.  Chemical processes which strip the plant hinder the help.  You need the hemp plants full biology to get the most benefit for healing, hence "The Entourage Effect".  Look for Full Spectrum Hemp Oil in the product listing.

Studies and empirical evidence both show that our bodies need all of the hemp plants powerful botanical's (cannabinoids, terpenes, some THC, flavonoids) to get the most impact and healing.  The above picture shows all of the powerful ingredients and what they do.  And we are only just beginning our understanding.

Note how a little trace THC acts as a key to unlock the door and allow phytocannabinoids to fully enter into our ECS and receive fuller healing.

This theory of the entourage effect is thoroughly described in a review called Taming THC: potential cannabis synergy and phytocannabinoid-terpenoid entourage effects,” authored by Dr. Ethan Russo—a neurologist and pharmacologist who has long studied cannabis compounds and how they affect the body.

In this review, Dr. Russo details the studied benefits of common cannabis compounds, and based on their pharmacology, describes their potential synergistic effects. For example, the cannabinoids CBD and CBG have been found to inhibit the bacterial staph infection MRSA—how might they be even more effective when combined with the MRSA-fighting terpene pinene or when prepared with terpenes that increase skin permeability?

Only Full Spectrum Hemp Oil has all of the natural cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and very low levels of THC (<.3%) necessary to get the full benefit of what the hemp plant has to offer.  To get everything you need look for Full Spectrum Hemp Oil from Blue Buffalo for the best results.
